Our 5 Top Reasons to go on a Wellness Retreat

Here at Zenaa, we embrace those who practice regularly, celebrate those who ‘used to, but…’ and welcome with open arms the yoga curious. You may have been toying with the idea of going on a yoga retreat, but if you’re completely honest, you have no idea if this whole thing is for you.

We hear you, and we understand that both ‘yoga’ and ‘retreat’ conjure different images for different people, with offerings varying greatly across the board. But diversity should be celebrated, and the different opportunities out there are fabulous for choice. So firstly, be free, explore, and find what’s right for you. But just in case we can sway you in our direction whilst you’re here, we’ve scribbled down our top five reasons as to why a Zenaa Wellness Retreat might just be the perfect thing for you.

(Oh, and you may have noticed, we have chosen to call our retreats Wellness Retreats, rather than sticking solely with yoga – read on to find out more)…

1. Reconnect With Yourself

Going on a Zenaa Wellness Retreat means taking yourself out of the everyday grind, taking time away from work, housework, caring responsibilities, admin and all the different stresses and strains life can bring. It’s a chance to escape and treat yourself to luxury. Not only luxury with regard the location, the venue, the food and the activities, but also the luxury of time, space, mindfulness and relaxation; an opportunity to reconnect deeply with your true self, a time to breathe.

2. Focus On Yoga & Mindfulness

How often do you practice yoga? Once a week? Once a fortnight? Once in a blue moon? Wait, what even is yoga?!

Zenaa Wellness Retreats dedicate time and space to yoga and mindfulness, set always within beautiful, hand-picked locations, with no distractions other than the call of the birds, the sound of the sea and the dappled sunshine streaming in as we practice.

Each day during our Zenaa Wellness Retreats we have a yoga workshop in the morning and a gentle yoga class in the evening. During our workshops, we break down the poses, learn correct alignment, where we should be feeling the stretch, where we should be working hard and where we should be relaxing. Options for difficulty and modifications will be given to accommodate all the different ages, abilities and bodies in the room.

3. Connection to Nature

Zenaa Wellness Retreats extend far beyond the yoga. We seek out venues which deliver so much more than just a space to practice and a bed for the night. Think location, setting, connection to nature. Whether that’s the sea spray in the air and the swoosh of the seabirds as they circle overhead at our Devon hideaway, the bursting colour of wildflowers and the rustle of leaves as you walk through the private woodland within our Cotswold haven or the feeling of the sun on your skin as you stretch and swim at our casa in the Portuguese hills.

4. Have Everything Organised for You

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is the freedom from decision fatigue. At our retreats, everything is taken care of. From the moment you arrive, your itinerary, your meals, and your comfort are our priority. You don’t need to plan what to cook for dinner, or worry about where to go for a walk. You simply need to show up, and let us hold the space for you.

5. Make Like-Minded Friends

One of the very best parts about Zenaa Wellness Retreats is seeing the incredible transformation in our guests from the start of their time with us, as a collective of wonderful individuals, to the end, when they leave for home, a close-knit community of friends.

At Zenaa Wellness Retreats, we welcome groups of friends, couples and celebrate and encourage our solo travelers, so whether you want to join us alone or with a significant other(s), all are welcome. Come with an open mind and leave with a heart full of laughter, stories and wonderful new memories.
